State Park Cabins

A variety of different types of cabins are available for rent in ten of North Dakota's State Parks, ranging from small, sleeping-only camper cabins to family-style cabins with kitchenettes and bathrooms.

Information about each park's cabin facilities, along with meeting facilities and picnic shelters, can be found on that park's web pages. Links are provided below.

Cabin reservations may be made one year in advance. Beginning April 1, 2008, cabin reservations are available online or by calling the toll-free reservation line 800-807-4723.

Camping cabins

Camping cabins have no interior bathrooms or cooking facilities. They are general equipped with lights, heat, fan and sleep from 4-5 bunkbed style, and are available from approximately mid-May to fall. For information on parks with sleeping cabins, visit the following pages:

Woodland Cabins

The Woodland Cabins at Turtle River State Park are similar to camper cabins, but have individual bathrooms. For information on these cabins, go to:

Primitive Log Cabins

Two log cabins are available year round at Cross Ranch State Park. These cabins have wood-burning stoves, lights and electricity. No running water or inside toilets are available, but shower facilities are available year-round at the Visitor Center.

Family Cabins & Dorms

Three year-round family cabins are available at Lake Metigoshe State Park. Each is equipped with kitchens, bathrooms, heat, gas fireplaces and decks. This park also has a large group facility with dorms and kitchen/dining hall.

Seasonal Cabins

Both Cross Ranch and Fort Stevenson state parks rent their seasonal staff cabins when not needed to house park staff. Seasonal housing has heat, kitchenette and bathrooms.
