How to Choose the Best Camping Chairs for Your Trip
There are a number of factors to consider when you’re on a shopping trip for camping chairs. The price is an important factor, but there are other just as important things that you should take into account if you want to have a camping chair that can promise a more relaxing outdoor experience.
What are Camping Chairs?
Compared to other types of chairs and seats, camping chairs are designed with more lightweight materials. This is necessary as many campers travel on foot and would have to carry the chairs themselves. They are also usually foldable, which is ideal as it would consume lesser packing space than usual. Admittedly, camping chairs are not as necessary as sleeping bags, but they are nonetheless popular with most campers since they add ease and comfort while doing a variety of outdoor activities such as bird watching and fishing.
Short Distance Trips
You have the luxury of choosing from a wider selection of chairs if you’re only camping a short distance away. With only a short distance to the camping site, you could travel back and forth for your belongings and practically bring whatever you want.
As such, it’s best to take advantage of the short distance to the camping site by bringing with you the most luxurious camping chairs. Look for the largest possible size and check for cup holders as well as padded back and seats. Some even have additional storage pockets to keep essential objects – binoculars, hunting knife, first aid – all within reach.
Medium Distance Trips
For camping trips that would require you to do a bit of walking or hiking instead of allowing you drive your RV or trailer directly to the site, make sure you take chairs with you that are lightweight and ones you can readily carry.
Long Distance Trips
If you have previous experience camping then you probably know that there’s nothing more irritating than having to trek or hike while carrying so many things and some of them can’t be placed securely on your back.
If you’re going to carry your own chair, it would be ideal if they’re foldable and come with the necessary straps to keep them securely attached on your back. Definitely, they must be made of weatherproof materials. It would be a bit silly if you had to worry more about not getting your chair wet than keeping yourself safe from the rain, don’t you think?
