What Can You Enjoy in the "Outdoor World"?

If you’re like me, born and bred in the urban jungles of the city, then you probably viewed the outdoor world with great suspicion and perhaps even disgust. You couldn’t understand why anyone in his or her right mind would want to spend the night sleeping on the cold hard ground or running around barefoot on wet and itchy grass.

But my views changed when I had the chance to explore nature with a well-chosen trip and with knowledgeable companions. Not everyone may enjoy camping or hiking, but those aren’t the only ways to enjoy the outdoor world.  Two of the most exotic – outside (perhaps way outside) the confines of state parks – safaris and spelunking!

Safaris

If you go on safari, you’ll enjoy the air-conditioned and confined safety of a vehicle with other passengers while you go deep into the wild and experience dangerous animals in their natural habitat and element. Wild animals could leap onto the glass top of your vehicle, prowling and staring at you with golden eyes. You could also see them feed on live prey.

Safaris are offered during the day and night and contrary to what most people believe, they’re not exclusively available in Africa. Contact your tour agent and find out what your most affordable options are for enjoying a safari.

Spelunking

It’s also more commonly known as ‘cave exploring’. If you’ve watched movies like The Descent or Sanctum then you may feel this is a highly dangerous activity. But it doesn’t have to be. You can still discover and explore underground wonders as long as you limit yourself to well-known and completely mapped cave routes.

These are just a two ways to explore nature besides camping. Your travel agent is sure to have other suggestions to offer but there’s definitely an outdoor activity for you. Just be patient and open minded when looking for it – your options are as limitless as your imagination!
