Maah Daah Hey Trail

National Recreation Trail

North Dakota's nationally acclaimed Maah Daah Hey Trail, located in the Little Missouri National Grasslands in western North Dakota, is open for non-motorized recreational use, including backpacking, horseback riding and mountain biking.

Mountain biking is not permitted on segments of the trail located within the North and South Units of Theodore Roosevelt National Park; however, alternate biking routes are provided.

This rugged, 96-mile trail runs from Sully Creek State Park south of Medora, north along the Little Missouri River, ending at the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

The trail is managed by the USDA-Forest Service. Additional information about camping along the trail, water sources and maps can be found on their web site, www.fs.fed.us/r1/dakotaprairie/mdhtl.htm
