2007 Campsite Reservations

Phone 1-800-807-4723

The toll-free reservation line, 1-800-807-4723, is closed for the off-season and will re-open on Tuesday, April 1, 2008.

It's usually easy to find a good camping spot in one of North Dakota's state parks. But on holiday and special event weekends... if you are traveling a long distance... or making plans to camp with friends, we recommend a reservation.

Major state parks are open year round. During the off-season (Labor Day-mid-May) campsite reservations are not needed. For cabin or picnic shelter reservations, contact each park directly. Park phone numbers and addresses can be found on the ND Parks & Recreation Department's addresses page.

Nearly half of all state park campsites may be reserved by calling our toll-free number, 1-800-807-4723

Reserved sites are available at 11 of North Dakota's major state parks, including

  • Beaver Lake
  • Cross Ranch
  • Ft. Abraham Lincoln
  • Ft. Ransom
  • Ft. Stevenson
  • Grahams Island
  • Icelandic
  • Lake Metigoshe
  • Lake Sakakawea
  • Lewis & Clark
  • Turtle River

For reservations at Little Missouri State Park, contact the park directly at 701-794-3731 or 701-764-5256.

Reservations are not available at Sully Creek State Park.

REMEMBER...There are also campsites in our state parks available on a first come, first serve basis!

Reservation Guidelines

  • Reservations may be made for May 18 through Sept.3, except for Fort Ransom State Park which will have reserved sites available through Sept. 30.
  • A non-refundable $6 fee is charged per campsite reservation. Camping fees are $14 to $19/night for a modern site and $8/night for a primitive site. The reservation fee and full camping fee must be paid in full when making a reservation. Annual permit fees or daily entrance fees will be collected at the park.
  • Reservations may be paid by Discover, Visa or Mastercard. Checks or money orders are not accepted.
  • For all 11 parks, on holiday weekends (Memorial Day and Labor Day) sites must be reserved for both Friday and Saturday nights. Other restrictions may apply on special event weekends.
  • If at a later date you wish to change the date or site of your reservation, a $2.50 transfer fee will be charged.
  • Reservations must be made by noon (CDT) the day prior to arrival.
  • Cancellations must be made by noon (CDT) the day prior to arrival to receive a refund of the camping fees. Cancellations made after that time will forfeit the first night's camping fee.
  • No confirmation notices will be mailed. However, Campsite reservation confirmations can be checked online by using the confirmation number given when the reservation is made by phone.
  • Reservations for more than one campsite, or for a group campsite, require the names of the parties occupying each site or each unit in a group campsite. All camping sites are restricted to one camping unit per campsite unless the site is designated as a multiple or group site.
  • Campsite check-in is after 2 p.m. and check-out is by 1 p.m.
