May

May 2-4 – BIRDING WEEKEND, Cross Ranch State Park. Join in on a guided hike through the park to observe and identify birds found at Cross Ranch; we will also be providing programs on birds  (Times to be announced at a later time).

May 16—FULL CAMPING SERVICES available, including campground water and comfort stations where offered.

May 16-18—WINGS AND THINGS FESTIVAL, Cross Ranch State Park, is a region-wide birding festival that the park will be participating in, which will include Fort Mandan, Washburn CVB, and the Audubon National Wildlife Refuge.

May 24, 25, & 26 (1-4 p.m.)—SKY DANCE SAKAKAWEA, Ft. Stevenson State Park. Kite flying festival for all ages. Fly your own kite. Build your own kite. See kites of all shapes and sizes being flown, including stunt kites (701-463-2661).

May 26—MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY. All parks. Free admission to any state park on Memorial Day, in honor of past and present servicemen and women.
