Reservations

NEW! Online campsite & cabin reservations

Beginning at 8 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, campsite and cabin reservations may be made online by clicking on the "Online Services" button to the left. Campsite and cabin reservations may also be made by phoning our Call Center at 800-807-4723.

Nearly half of all state park campsites may be reserved. The remaining campsites are available on a first come, first served basis.

Reserved sites are available at:

  • Cross Ranch
  • Ft. Abraham Lincoln
  • Ft. Ransom
  • Ft. Stevenson
  • Grahams Island
  • Icelandic
  • Lake Metigoshe
  • Lake Sakakawea
  • Lewis & Clark
  • Turtle River

For Little Missouri, contact the park directly at 701-764-5256. The park closes November 1. Reservations are not available at Sully Creek, which closes for the season December 1.

Remember—All parks have sites available on a first come, first served basis.

Reservation Guidelines

  • Campsite and cabin reservations must be made either through our online management system or by calling 800-807-4723. Beginning April 1, state park offices will not accept campsite or cabin reservations directly.
  • Reservations for shelters, dorms, and group or meeting facilities should still be made by calling the park directly.
  • Prior to using the online management system for the first time, users are strongly encouraged to register for a North Dakota Login ID. A link to create an ID will be added on the "Online Services" page shortly.
  • Campsite reservations have a 90-day advance window. For example, the earliest a campsite reservation for July 4th can be made is April 6.
  • Cabin reservations may be made one year in advance.
  • Reservations for both campsite and cabins can be made until noon the day prior to arrival.
  • Reservation, change and cancellation fees will be charged for both online and call center services (see fee schedule below). The reservation fee is non-refundable. A credit card (Discover, Visa or MasterCard) is required. Checks or money orders are not accepted.
  • For those making campsite reservations through the call center, no more than five campsites may be reserved during any one call. For large group gatherings when ten or more adjacent campsites are desired, call the park directly or use the online management system.
  • In 2008, campsite reservations are available from May 16 through September 1, except for Fort Ransom State Park which will have reserved sites available through September 28.
  • On holiday and special event weekends, a two or three night cabin or campsite stay may be required.
  • Confirmation notices will be e-mailed. Reservation confirmations may also be checked online by going to the "Online Services" web page, logging in, and entering your confirmation number.
  • Campsite check-in is after 2 p.m. and checkout is by 1 p.m. Cabin check-in is after 4 p.m. and checkout is 11 a.m.

Non-refundable reservation fees:
Single site or cabin,online—$3
Group site, online—$6
Single site or cabin, Call Center—$6
Group site, Call Center—$12

Reservation change: online or Call Center for both campsites and cabins—$2.50

Cancellation fees

Single Campsite:

  • Before noon 5 days or more prior to day of arrival—$5
  • Less than 5 days but before noon the day prior to day of arrival—$15
  • After noon the day prior to day of arrival—1 night's camping

Group Campsite:

  • Before noon 5 days or more prior to day of arrival—$10
  • Less than 5 days but before noon the day prior to day of arrival—$25
  • After noon the day prior to day of arrival—1 night's camping x minimum number of units

Year-round Cabins:

  • Before noon 30 days or more prior to day of arrival—$15
  • Before noon 14 days or more prior to day of arrival—$25
  • Less than 14 days prior to day of arrival—1 night's fee

Seasonal Cabins:

  • Before noon 7 days or more prior to day of arrival—$10
  • After noon 7 days or less prior to day of arrival—1 night's fee
